A driving method for a heater heating an exhaust pipe is provided to prevent the heater from operating when temperature is not higher than the temperature of the dew point by calculating the dew point reference temperature in consideration of the temperature of the temperature sensor and the humidity of the humidity sensor. A driving method for a heater heating an exhaust pipe comprises: a step(S12) reading the temperature of the exhaust pipe measured by a temperature sensor mounted on an exhaust pipe and the humidity of the intake pipe measured by the humidity sensor mounted on the intake pipe; a step(S14) using the temperature of the exhaust pipe and the humidity of the intake pipe, and calculating the dew point reference temperature; a step(S16) calculating difference between the calculated dew point reference temperature and the temperature of the exhaust pipe; a fourth stage(S18) determining whether the calculated temperature difference exceeds ±5°C or not; and a step(S20) preventing the drive of the heater heating the exhaust pipe in case the temperature difference does not exceed ±5°C. |
