PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit and receive image data including plural types of image information likely to increase in information amount, without reduction in transfer rate.SOLUTION: An image data transmission system 100 comprises: an image data transmission apparatus 120; and an image data reception apparatus 130. In particular, the image data transmission apparatus 120 comprises: a distortion correction processing unit 122 which corrects a distortion of a fisheye image to generate a distortion-corrected image; and a transmission image data generation unit 123 which forms a converted image by dividing the distortion-corrected image formed by the distortion correction processing unit 122 along a scanning line and rearranging the results, and generates transmission image data by inserting the converted image into a region which does not include an effective image signal of the fisheye image data.
