PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal display panel that can suppress degradation in the display quality even when a pressure that exceeds a predetermined limitation is applied.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display panel 13 includes: a first insulating substrate 5; a second insulating substrate 10 disposed to oppose to the first insulating substrate 5; and a plurality of spacers 8S on at least one of the surface of the first insulating substrate 5 opposing to the second insulating substrate 10 and of the surface of the second substrate 10 opposing to the first substrate 5, for maintaining a gap between the first insulating substrate 5 and the second insulating substrate 10. At least some of the plurality of spacers 8S are formed into an elliptic columnar shape, which includes a portion where the height from the substrate surface where the spacer is disposed to the top of the spacer continuously decreases with the distance from the center defined at the uppermost part of the spacer. |
