PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is designed to exhibit an excellent current cutoff effect so that it excels in safety when overcharged.SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes as power generation elements a cathode plate having a cathode mixture layer containing a cathode active material which occludes and discharges lithium ions supported by a cathode core body, an anode plate having an anode mixture layer containing an anode active material supported by an anode core body, a nonaqueous electrolyte, and a separator which separates the cathode plate and the anode plate from each other. The cathode mixture layer contains at least two kinds of cathode active materials differing in powder resistance. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains an additive which polymerizes on the cathode plate to form a conductive polymer when the battery is overcharged. |
