A data communications arrangement for receiving data transmitted by modulated light (28) is described, the arrangement comprising a receiving device (20) and a diagnostic device, the receiving device (20) comprising a sensor element (21) coupled to a connector (26), wherein the sensor element (21) converts incident modulated light (28) into a modulated electrical output signal and the connector (26) comprises a jack plug (22-25), the jack plug (22-25) being received, in use, by a microphone socket of the diagnostic device such that the output of the receiving device (20) can be analysed using an audio circuit of the diagnostic device. |
