<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition capable of forming a coated film having high scratch resistance, a cured material, an optical film and an antireflection film having improved scratch resistance using the same, and a polarizing plate and an image display device having the optical film or the antireflection plate. <P>SOLUTION: The coating composition includes at least one kind of inorganic particles surface-treated with a hydrolysate of an organosilane compound represented by general formula (A) and/or a partial condensate thereof, where R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, X, m, n, and p each denotes a substituted alkyl group having a polymerization initiating unit which produces radicals by light and/or heat, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group having a polymerizable group having an unsaturated bond, a hydroxy group or a hydrolyzable group, an integer of 1-3, an integer of 0-2, an integer of 1-3, respectively and the sum total of m, n and p is 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
