PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning and packaging material capable of firmly maintaining a shape according to a design by keeping a contact state of two specific portions of a plate-like member without a space and a separation, the two specific portions being fixed to each other by the mutual contact of the surfaces, at least one of the two specific portions being bent in the vicinity of the contact part. SOLUTION: The cushioning and packaging material 1 assembled by bending the plate-like member includes two neighboring bent pieces 6 having a cut part 5 mounted between them, and two fixed parts 2 inserted in and fixed by the cut part 5 in the mutual contact state of the surfaces and bent along the fold line 13 corresponding to the tip end portion 5a of the cut part 5. The length of the cut part 5 is approximately the same as the length of the fixed parts 2 in the direction perpendicular to the fold line 13 or the length in the up-down direction.
