PURPOSE: A selective trim method considering data reuse time and workloads in a non-volatile memory storage device is provided to increase a performance speed of a program and to improve the performance of a storage device by suggesting a TRIM command calling method optimized by considering gains and costs of a TRIM command. CONSTITUTION: The utilization of a memory storage device is calculated by processing statistics or a list of an effective or ineffective sector. A TRIM policy is applied to the memory storage device based on the calculated utilization. The TRIM policy includes a TRIM and a lower TRIM limit. Different TRIM policies are applied according to the utilization of the memory storage device. |
