PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably detect erroneous detection of over current due to noise or the like, and further, to reliably clean an object to be cleaned, even if there is load variation in a motor M due to a soiled state or the like of the object to be cleaned.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a rotating shaft 71; a moving body 72, attached to the rotating shaft 71, comprising a cleaning member 73, and configured to move with rotation of the rotating shaft 71; a motor M for rotating the rotating shaft 71; a control section 8 for controlling rotation of the motor M; a current detecting section 77 for detecting current flowing in the motor M; and a time clocking section 83 for clocking time. When over current flowing in the motor M is detected by a current detecting section 77, and when motor drive time, before detecting the over current after starting to drive the motor M, is shorter than time obtained by subtracting predetermined time from set time, the control section 8 repeatedly performs erroneous detection confirming operation, to stop the rotation of the motor M and makes the motor M rotate backward for a fixed period, thereafter, and makes the motor M rotate forward again, for once or a plurality of times. |
