PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus and a POI icon display method capable of alternatively displaying a POI icon corresponding to a desired genre without a complex operation, even in an area having no POI corresponding to a desired brand.SOLUTION: A navigation apparatus includes: first determination means 24 for determining existence within a determination object region of POI corresponding to a set genre or brand; second determination means 26 for determining existence of POI of a different brand corresponding to the genre within the determination object region, when a negative determination result is obtained by the first determination means 24; and POI icon display control means 27 for performing control, to POI icon display means 21, of alternatively displaying a POI icon of the different brand on a map corresponding to the determination object region, when a positive determination result is obtained by second determination means 26. |
