PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which, even if a display unit driven at a low duty ratio and a display unit driven at a high duty ratio are included in one liquid crystal display, a voltage adjustment for making brightness of both display units closer to each other is easily performed.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal layer 7 including liquid crystal that is encapsulated between a first transparent substrate 1 and a second transparent substrate 2 and has negative dielectric anisotropy to be vertical alignment when voltage is not applied. The liquid crystal undergoes alignment processing so as to have a predetermined pretilt angle for vertical alignment, and any one of the first transparent electrode 3 and second transparent electrode 4 is provided with a small piece of opening so as to avoid an adverse effect on an alignment state of the liquid crystal in the case of voltage application. |
