PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially and extremely advantageous production method capable of obtaining an azodicarboxylate ester compound more efficiently at higher yield than a conventional method.SOLUTION: A method for production of a bis(2-alkoxyethyl) azodicarboxylate ester compound represented by general formula (2) (wherein A is a 1-10C alkyl group) comprises oxidizing bis(2-alkoxyethyl) 1,2-hydrazine carboxylate ester compound represented by formula (1) (wherein A is synonymous with the above) with a carbonate and halogen in an organic solvent. |
