<p>An electronic endoscope system (1) which is provided with an endoscope (2) in which an inserted section (5) is rotatable with respect to an operation section (6), and which electronically captures an image of a subject; wherein the electronic endoscope system (1) is provided with: a physical quantity generation unit (13) which is provided to the inserted section (5), and which generates a physical quantity that changes in accordance with the angle of rotation of the inserted section (5) in relation to the operation section (6); a detection unit (14) which is provided to the operation section (6), and which detects the physical quantity generated by the physical quantity generation unit (13); a rotation angle calculation unit (15) for calculating the angle of rotation of the inserted section (5) on the basis of the physical quantity detected by the detection unit (14); and a display unit (4) for displaying the image of the subject, and also for indicating the angle of rotation of the inserted section (5) in relation to the operation section (6) on the basis of the calculated angle of rotation.</p> |
