Provided is a lateral pressing-type press switch which is provided with an insulating molded body having a recess in a front-side front surface section, an inside fixed contact arranged in a recess bottom-surface section, an outside fixed contact arranged outside of the inside fixed contact in the recess bottom-surface section, and a movable contact member accommodated in the recess in a state in which an outer edge section thereof comes into contact with the outside fixed contact. Together with the inside fixed contact and the outside fixed contact being formed by a conductive thin film, the lateral pressing-type press switch is provided with a pair of substrate connection patterns comprising a conductive thin film formed on the lower surface of a horizontal receiving section, and a pair of connection patterns comprising a conductive thin film formed on a rear-surface opposing section in such a way as to conduct with each of the substrate connection patterns. A configuration is employed in which the fixed contacts conduct with each of the connection patterns by way of conduction holes the inner circumferential surfaces of which are covered by a conductive thin film, thereby making it possible for the lateral pressing-type press switch to be small in size, to have a low profile, and to have high mounting strength.
