The present invention relates to an electric vehicle with a generator which charges a battery with power when an accelerator is released for deceleration. The electric vehicle includes: the generator (7) which stops the generation of power by separating a rotary shaft from a driving shaft (5) or a driven shaft (10) in the acceleration or uniform motion of the electric vehicle by pressing a pedal (A-1) of an accelerator (A) and generates the power by connecting the rotary shaft to the driving shaft (5) or the driven shaft (10) in the deceleration of the electric vehicle when the pedal (A-1) of the accelerator (A) is released in the driving of the electric vehicle; a power transmitting unit (8) which transmits the rotational power of the driving shaft or the driven shaft to the rotary shaft (71) of the generator; and a switching unit which connects the rotary shaft of the generator to the driving shaft or the driven shaft when the electric vehicle is accelerated or equivalently moves or disconnect the rotary shaft of the generator from the driving shaft or the driven shaft when the electric vehicle is decelerated.
