PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device in which wear of an electrode terminal for detecting a position of an origin can be restrained.SOLUTION: A cutting device 1 includes a chuck table 10, a cutting means 20 including a spindle 22 on which a cutting blade 21 is mounted, and an origin detection mechanism 1-1 for detecting a position of an origin of the cutting blade in a cutting direction by electric conduction caused by bringing the cutting blade into contact with the chuck table. The origin detection mechanism includes a holder 27 mounted on a spindle housing 23 to face toward the other end of the spindle, a guide hole 271a and a gas supply path 273 for supplying gas to the guide hole, both formed in the holder, an electrode terminal 29 to be slidably inserted in the guide hole, a pressing spring 31 made of a conductive material and pressing the electrode terminal onto an end face of the other end, a gas supply means 32 for supplying the gas to the guide hole through the gas supply path to further press the electrode terminal onto the end face of the other end, and a control means 6 for controlling the gas supply means. |
