PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a photodiode in a range capable of responding to variations in incident light position.SOLUTION: A photoelectronic sensor comprises: a light projection unit 10 having a light projection element (an LED) 1; and a photo IC 20 including a photodiode 2 and a signal processing circuit, in which a front face, a back face and a cross section therebetween of an element body of the photodiode 2 in the photo IC 20 are formed so as to have a shape obtained by cutting out four corners of a rectangle greater in area than a spot image generated by image forming of light having passed through a light-receiving lens in front. For example, a minimum rectangle including an assumed position shift range of the spot image is prepared and four corner portions of the rectangle are cut out to form an octagon, and the shape and the size of the octagon are applied to the element body of the photodiode 2. |
