The invention relates to a method for determining an analysis region (11) in an image (9) of an environmental region (10) of a motor vehicle (1) captured by means of a camera (3) of the motor vehicle (1) in order to subject the analysis region (11) of the image (9) to image processing by means of an electronic image processing device (4) of the motor vehicle (1). A region of interest (ROI) is defined within the environmental region (10) of the motor vehicle (1) in a three-dimensional coordinate system (x, y, z) of the motor vehicle (1) and projected to a two-dimensional pixel coordinate system (i, j) of the image (9) such that hereby the analysis region (11) in the image (9) is determined.
