发明名称 Improvements in or relating to froth flotation
摘要 405,606. Flotation apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, BULLOCK, W., Fraser & Chalmers Engineering Works, Erith, Kent, and JACKSON, A. B., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. July 1, 1932, No. 18683. [Class 82 (ii).] In froth flotation apparatus of the airagitation type the air is introduced through an inlet in the lower part of the cell, a rotary air distributer is provided over the air inlet, and a spitzkasten is arranged at one side of the cell. The air distributer is arranged to rotate only at a rate so slow as not to produce frothing but sufficient to prevent clogging of the air inlet and the bottom of the cell, for example 20 revolutions per minute. Pulp is fed through a feed box 25 and pipe 26 into a cell 1 and is agitated by air introduced through an air inlet pipe 11 in the bottom of the cell supplied by a valved pipe 13 from a low-pressure main 12. Above the air inlet is a rotary air distributer 10, preferably of domed shape and perforated. The distributer shown consists of a series of conical surfaces 17-20, Fig. 4, connected by vertical surfaces 21-23 which are provided with equally spaced perforations. Four blades 17a are attached to the lowest conical surface 17 and a cylindrical screen 16 is provided at the bottom of the distributer. The air inlet pipe 11 rises through the bottom of the cell and terminates within the domed air distributer 10. A spitzkasten 2, Fig. 3, is arranged on one side of the cell, the pulp passing from the cell to the spitzkasten over a weir 3 adjustable by means of a gate 5 sliding over a perforated baffle plate 8. Froth is discharged from the spitzkasten by a rotating paddle 36 and pulp returns from the spitzkasten to the cell through a passage 4. Frothing in the cell 1 is controlled by a grid 29 arranged over the air distributer. A number of cells may be arranged in series, separated by adjustable gates 27 co-operating with fixed weirs 28. The depth of pulp and the flotation reagents used may vary in different cells.
