The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display device according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a switching device which is located on the first substrate, a pixel electrode which is connected to the switching device and receives a data voltage, an opposite electrode which is formed on the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer which is located between the first substrate and the second substrate and includes a liquid crystal molecule. The pixel electrode includes a liquid crystal direction control unit which divides the pixel electrode into a plurality of sub areas. The tilt direction of the liquid crystal molecule is different at each sub area when the data voltage is applied to the pixel electrode. The liquid crystal direction control unit is concavely or convexly formed on the first substrate. |
