PURPOSE: An image magnifying method and a recording medium capable of reading a program performing the same with a computer are provided to maintain signals of a low frequency domain while improving edge properties in magnifying images, thereby minimizing the distortion of the images. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium receives a source image from a user and generates a reference image based on the inputted source image (S10, S20). The recording medium generates a reference map base on a difference between the reference image and the source image and magnifies the source image and the reference map respectively (S30, S40). The recording medium converts the magnified source image and reference map into the images of a frequency domain and synthesizes the converted source image and reference map.
