An inspecting apparatus of an LCD(liquid crystal display) and an illumination controlling method thereof are provided to improve quality by sensing decrease of intensity of illumination of a lamp and by compensating for the decreased intensity of illumination. An illumination controlling method comprises the steps of: enabling a sensor to measure the intensity of illumination of a lamp and transmit a signal to a feedback device(S101), enabling the feedback device to determine whether the intensity of illumination is below a standard value(S102), enabling the feedback device to compensate for the illumination as the standard value, when the illumination is below the standard value(S103), enabling the feedback device to determine that the illumination is below a limit value(S104), and enabling the feedback device to output a signal for changing the lamp when the intensity of illumination is below the limit value(S105). |
