PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heater capable of attaining stabilization and higher speed in the operation time of an excessive temperature rise prevention element without damaging a belt member even in a rotation or stop condition of the belt member, and of ensuring operation reliability of the excessive temperature rise prevention element.SOLUTION: An image heater includes: a rotatable cylindrical belt member 101; a heating member 104 for radiating heat rays from the inside of the belt member in a circumferential direction to heat the belt member; and an excessive temperature rise prevention element 107 for preventing temperature of the belt member from excessively rising. The excessive temperature rise prevention element is disposed inside the belt member in the circumferential direction and at a position where the radiation of the heat rays is not directly received. |
