<p>A vehicle heating system comprising a heat exchanger in the form of a tank A attached to or in an exhaust ES or exhaust manifold EM. A fluid flow pipe C and return pipe F circulate a fluid heated by the exhaust to and from a heater matrix I using fluid pump H. When the fluid has reached a predefined temperature a thermostatic valve K may be opened to allow the fluid to be cooled by a radiator L incorporating a fan N. Instead of using a radiator, tanks may be pivoted on an outside face of the exhaust and/or exhaust manifold such that they can be selectively engaged with and disengaged from the exhaust using a solenoid P and thermostatic switch. The tank includes a fluid level indicator switch D, a fluid temperature switch E, a fluid top-up reservoir pipe G, and a bleeding nipple O is provided in the return pipe.</p> |
