428,025. Supports for kinematograph cameras. MERY, J., 2, Rue Dumas, Epinaysur-Seine, France. Nov. 24, 1934, No. 33872. Convention date, March 24. [Class 97 (i)] In a support for a kinematograph camera, comprising a platform rotatable about vertical and horizontal axes, the weight of the camera is balanced in any inclined position of the platform, by connecting the platform at a point in its median plane, (i.e. the plane containing the centre of gravity of the supported camera, and the horizontal axis of rotation) to one or more springs by means of a member so guided as to pass through a point on the vertical axis of rotation of the support. The platform 1 is pivoted about the horizontal axis 2 in standards 3 extending from a base 4 which is rotatable about its vertical axis on the fixed head 5 of a tripod. A socket 7 extending axially from the base 4 contains a spring 6 the upper end of which is connected by a chain 8 to a point 9 on a semicircular member 10 extending from the platform 1. The chain is guided between rollers 12 mounted in the upper end of the socket so that the part so guided always lies on the vertical axis of rotation of the table 4. |
