Use of a copper-tin-multicomponent bronze (A) for sliding surfaces in composite components, sliding elements in internal combustion engines, transmissions, exhaust treatment systems, lever and joint systems and hydraulic power units, or in machines and systems of general mechanical engineering, is claimed, where (A) comprises 0.5-14 wt.% of tin, 0.01-7 wt.% of zinc, 0.05-2 wt.% of aluminum, 0.01-2 wt.% of silicon, 0.1-2 wt.% of iron, 0.2-4 wt.% of manganese, maximum 0.08 wt.% of phosphorus, maximum 0.08 wt.% of sulfur and balance of copper and impurities.
