Provided are a mobile station apparatus, a base station apparatus, a communication system, a radio resource requesting method and an integrated circuit wherein the radio resource request between the mobile station apparatus and the base station apparatus is efficiently performed, thereby improving both the reduction of power consumption and the use efficiency of radio resources. A base station apparatus sets, to a mobile station apparatus, a radio resource request inhibition timer that is to be applied when a radio resource request has been transmitted. The mobile station apparatus activates the radio resource request inhibition timer after transmitting the radio resource request and monitors, on the basis of the radio resource request inhibition timer, a signal to be used for a radio resource allocation.
