A terminal having a touch wheel and an operation control method therefor are provided to use an existing touch wheel input method and an existing button input method by only using the touch wheel even without equipping a button within the touch wheel, thereby cutting down a manufacturing cost. A touch wheel(210) recognizes a user's contact. If contact is released within preset time when the touch wheel is contacted with one area, a controller(240) controls operation assigned to the contacted area. If the contact is released, the controller carries out a menu function allocated to the contacted area. If the contact is released, the controller moves a cursor in a direction corresponding to the contacted area. |
