PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to make lubricating oil mixed with gaseous refrigerant flow smoothly as the velocity of the refrigerant flows through a gas pipe in partial-load operation. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an outdoor unit(2), an indoor unit, a liquid pipe(50), a gas pipe(60), and a bypass pipe(70). The outdoor unit includes a compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger in which a refrigerant and outdoor air are heat exchanged. The indoor unit includes an indoor heat exchanger in which the refrigerant and indoor air are heat exchanged and an indoor expansion valve which expands the refrigerant. The liquid refrigerant flows between the indoor expansion valve and the outdoor heat exchanger through the liquid pipe. The gas pipe guides gaseous refrigerant which flows into or is discharged from the compressor. The bypass pipe is extended from the liquid pipe to the gas pipe, and oil remaining in the liquid pipe or the gas pipe is recovered to the compressor through the bypass pipe. |
