摘要 A liquid crystal display capable of enhancing luminance and light transmission by using sub pixel, and driving method thereof are provided to expand color reproduction range in high saturation by improving color mixture property due to color breakup phenomenon. A data conversion circuit(250) comprises a data conversion part(252), a saturation decision part(254), a color coordinate selection part(256), and a data processing part(258). The data conversion part converts 3 primary color data into 4 primary color data of red, green, cyan, and blue. The saturation decision part determines a saturation of image of one frame by using the 4 primary color data(R, G, C, B) and a vertical synchronization signal(Vsync). The color coordinate selection part expands color coordinate of input data(R, G, B) into color coordinate of the 4 primary color data(R, G, C, B) according to a saturation decision signal(Dsat). A MUX(256c) of the color coordinate selection part supplies high saturation color coordinate value and low saturation color coordinate value to the data conversion part in response to the saturation decision signal. The data processing part calculates gain and minimum gray value of the 4 primary color data(R, G, C, B).
