摘要 An air gap eccentricity diagnostic device of an induction motor using an inverter and a method thereof are disclosed. A magnetic flux generation part generates magnetic flux with combined multiple DC components and AC components on a plane perpendicular to a rotary shaft of a rotor of an induction motor when the induction motor stops. An input current measurement part measures multiple inputs corresponding to each of the DC components causing the magnetic flux by measuring a current inputted to the induction motor whenever the magnetic flux composing the DC components is generated. An air gap eccentricity diagnostic part determines the induction motor as an air gap eccentricity if a DC current value at the point when an inductance value of the induction motor obtained by using an input voltage and an input current inputted to the induction motor is reduced by a predetermined ratio is smaller than a predetermined DC current value. The present invention is provided to reduce costs by using existing hardware such as a current sensor and a controller of the inverter without additional hardware components. Further, the present invention is performed with a simple algorithm because information such as the number of slots of the rotor of the motor necessary to check the air gap eccentricity and enables a user to conduct a diagnostic test in a short time when the motor is not in operation.
