PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation imaging apparatus which can more quickly display a preview image on a console by more quickly transmitting data for the preview image which has been compressed in an external apparatus such as the console.SOLUTION: A radiation imaging apparatus 1 includes: the transmitting data preparing means 25 reads out image data D, extracts data Dp for a preview image from the image data D, and compresses and stores the data Dp for the preview image and its difference &Dgr;Dp in a first buffer memory 25c; a DMA controller 22a transfers the data which has been stored in the first buffer memory 25c to a second buffer memory 26; and a control means 22 controls the above operations. The transmitting data preparing means 25 is constituted to immediately start the extraction and compression processes without waiting the indication from the control means 22 when the read-out D for the image data is finished. |
