PURPOSE: An animal training device capable of positioning the location of a color send/receive set by using GPS, and a control method thereof are provided to inform the location of a mobile device and a color send/receive set which are put on an animal. CONSTITUTION: An animal training device capable of positioning the location of a color send/receive set by using GPS comprises a portable device and a color send/receive set(200). The portable device comprises a GPS receiver(10) which receives a GPS signal, and extracts a position signal; a key input unit(20) which outputs data and a command signal which is input by a user; a portable device control unit(30) which controls the color send/receive set by a portable wireless communication unit; and a display unit(40) which displays the operation of the portable device. The color send/receive set includes a color wireless communication unit(60) which receives a wireless signal; a color GPS receiver(75) which extracts a position signal after receiving a GPS signal; a light sensing unit(90) which outputs a detected signal; an optical output unit(80) which outputs light; a beeper output unit(85) which generates a beep sound; and a color control unit(70) which controls each part of the color send/receive set.
