PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device on which a cartridge suitable for the state of use is mounted, while enabling effective use of the cartridge.SOLUTION: A printer 100 is compatible with multiple kinds of cartridges. Large-capacity cartridges and small-capacity cartridges are used according to the amount of colorant to be stored. Toner of large particle size and toner of small particle size are used according to the kind of toner stored. The printer 100 acquires use information of the current cartridge, and decides the kind of the cartridge on the basis the use information. The printer 100 notifies a user of the kind of the cartridge decided. |
