An apparatus for pretreatment of organic waste and a method thereof are disclosed. The apparatus for pretreatment of organic waste according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises at least one pretreatment tub which is equipped with an inlet and an outlet for organic waste, processes the organic waste flowed in to the inlet into fractions and discharges to a post-treatment tub through the outlet; a stirring unit which is equipped in the pretreatment tub and stirs the organic waste to up and down; a first removal unit which is provided to remove the waste precipitated in the bottom of the pretreatment tub; and a second removal unit which is provided to remove the waste floating in the upper part of the pretreatment tub.
