PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient production method of an optical device.SOLUTION: A production method of an optical device includes the steps for: preparing an overall substrate 33 including lattice-like regions 32 corresponding to respective substrates 38 of the optical device; collectively molding on the overall substrate 33 through transfer molding an overall member 34 for protection including a member 39 for protection provided in each of the regions 32 and functioned to reflect light emitted from a chip 3; mounting the chip 3 in each of the regions 32; electrically connecting electrodes which the chip 3 and the substrate 38 have, respectively; fixing the overall substrate 33 with the overall member 34 for protection to one of molding dies composed of an upper die 41 and a lower die 40 which are confronted with each other; collectively molding an overall member for sealing including a plurality of sealing members on the overall substrate 33 with the overall member 34 for protection through compression molding; and separating an intermediate which is formed by the step for collectively molding the overall member for sealing, for the unit of each region 32. |
