PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine in which the inside of a drain hose is washed to be clean for suppressing the occurrence of mold growth and smell.SOLUTION: A washing machine comprises: an outer tank supported within a housing and holding water therein; an inner tank provided within the outer tank and having laundry placed therein; and a circulation pump for circulating water held in the outer tank, and executes washing, rinsing and spin-drying steps. The washing machine further comprises a first passage extending from a bottom portion of the outer tank to the circulation pump and a second passage extending from the circulation pump to the bottom portion of the outer tank. The circulation pump is driven with water, having been used in the rinsing step, held in the bottom portion of the outer tank, so that the water held in the bottom portion of the outer tank can be sucked through the first passage to be circulated through the second passage to the bottom portion of the outer tank. |
