PURPOSE: A thruster and a ship with the same are provided to improve the longitudinal thrust of a ship because the cross-sectional area of a passage in a tunnel is controlled by a nozzle unit according to a flowing direction of fluid. CONSTITUTION: A thruster for a ship comprises a tunnel(110), a propeller(120), a pair of nozzle units(130), and a driving unit. The tunnel is formed in a lateral direction of a hull. The propeller is installed in the tunnel, and flows fluid through the tunnel to generate thrust in one side or the other side of the lateral direction. The pair of nozzle units is respectively installed in both inner sides of the tunnel. In the pair of nozzle units, the cross-sectional area of a fluid passage is tapered toward a downstream of the flowing fluid. The driving unit comprises multiple nozzle plates(132,134) arranged along the circumferential direction of the tunnel. One end of the nozzle plates is hinge-coupled to the inner wall of the tunnel. |
