Contact lens blister packages and methods of manufacturing packaged contact lenses, the devices including a thermoplastic base member (22) comprising a proximal end region (34) having a grip portion (62), a distal end region (36), a first side region (38), a second side region (40), and a cavity (26); wherein the cavity comprises a bottom wall (48) having a bottom wall perimeter (54) and a sidewall (50) extending upwardly from the bottom wall perimeter (54) to an upper cavity edge defining a cavity perimeter (28); the cavity perimeter comprises a substantially linear portion and a non-linear portion opposing the substantially linear portion; and a plane (59) formed at the intersection of the bottom wall perimeter (54) with the sidewall (50) slopes away from the substantially linear portion of the cavity perimeter (28).
