The apparatus i.e. installation switch (1), has a display (4) connected in a central disk or a frame cover (15) and integrated with a display drive unit (11). A setting and changing unit is provided for setting and changing a current function reference of the apparatus displayed by the display in a text form. The setting and changing unit is designed a wireless device, a local interface or a bus connection unit (12), which is connected with the drive unit. The connection unit is connected with a bus system such that the desired function reference is given through the bus system. The display is designed as an organic LED (OLED) display or an electronic paper (e-paper). The wireless device is designed as a smartphone. The local interface is designed as a mobile host.
