摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dredging system and a dredging method, which enable dredging with a high mud content while preventing a transport pipe from being clogged with sediment contained in a sucked fluid, when the dredging for pit excavation is performed. SOLUTION: In this dredging method, a suction head 2, which is connected to the transport pipe 6 equipped with a suction means, is suspended from a floating body 8 via a wire 9; a flow velocity V of the fluid containing the sediment G sucked in by the suction head 2 is measured by a flow velocity measuring means 14; ground contact pressure of the suction head 2 is measured on the basis of data on the tensile force of the wire 9, obtained by a tensiometer 11; and a control unit 13, in which limit flow velocity data and data on a relationship between the ground contact pressure of the suction head 2 and the amount of dredged sediment, precedently grasped about the sediment G on the bottom of the water, are input, adjusts upper and lower positions of the suction head 2 by controlling the drive of a winch 10 on the basis of data on measurement performed by the flow velocity measuring means 14 and the tensiometer 11. Thus, the dredging is performed by setting the flow velocity in the transport pipe 6 as high as/higher than the limit flow velocity and adjusting the amount of the dredged sediment.
