The present invention relates to a composition or a food product containing catechin gallate and poly-gamma-glutamic acid for inhibiting alcohol absorption and/or liver damage from alcohol. The composition or the food product according to the present invention can be used for relieving a hangover and inhibits absorption of catechin gallate in the intestines by means of the poly-gamma-glutamic acid, thereby displaying continuous suppression of alcohol absorption in the stomach and intestines by means of the cathechin gallate.
