PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slab yard which has high storage capacity and which excels in handling property and accessibility during carrying in and carrying out.SOLUTION: In a slab yard which is constituted of: a first slab yard in which a crane for transporting a slab is placed and which includes at least a pair of runway gutters and rails; and a second slab yard which is adjacent to the first slab yard and which has a gantry crane which moves on rails parallel to the runway gutters and the rails, (i-1) the runway gutters and the rails of the crane of the first slab yard extend at the second slab yard side by a required length, (i-2) one of the rails of the gantry crane of the second slab yard is laid at an intermediate position of the extended portion of the pair of runway gutters and the rails of the crane of the first slab yard, and (ii) a portion between a pair of rails of the gantry crane of the second slab yard and the extended portion of the pair of runway gutters and the rails of the crane of the first slab yard is a slab transfer yard. |
