PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time by reducing a processing load, and to improve recognizing accuracy.SOLUTION: An image recognition device includes: a first extraction part 31 (first extraction means) being means for extracting an image in a search window of a predetermined size from a photographic image by a camera 10 and for scanning a search window in a predetermined first pixel step to successively execute the extraction; a first determination part 32 (first determination means) for determining the presence/absence of possibility that a pedestrian (specific object) exists with respect to each of the extracted images; and a second extraction part 33 (second extraction means) for extracting, from the photographic image, an image at a position deviated from the position of an image (reference image) whose possibility of existence is determined to be present by the first determination part 32 only by a second pixel step. Whether or not a pedestrian exists in any of the image extracted by the second extraction part 33 or the reference image is determined. Then, the first pixel step is set so to be larger than the second pixel step. |
