PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a glass plate, in which welding and the like are not used to thereby shorten a working time, and strain, bending, damage and the like of a transfer pipe and a clarifying pipe are suppressed.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a glass plate, before a step of manufacturing molten glass, a transfer pipe constituted using at least platinum or a platinum alloy is heated to a state where the transfer pipe is thermally expanded, one end of the transfer pipe and an end of a melting furnace are brought into contact, and the other end of the transfer pipe and an end of a clarifying pipe are brought into contact. The ends brought into contact with the melting furnace, the transfer pipe and the clarifying pipe, respectively, are cooled from the outside of the pipe, so the molten glass which passes through the ends and enters the gap between the ends is cooled and solidified by the ends whereby the melting furnace, the transfer pipe and the clarifying pipe form a flow channel for the molten glass. |
