PURPOSE: A motor control device performs both low-speed hard turning and high-speed tapping using a motor by preventing the degradation of the properties due to a weak field. CONSTITUTION: A torque command limiting part (115) limits the size of a given torque command to the size of a certain range. A current operator (114) outputs a first current command by using the torque command with the size limited by the torque command limiting part. A magnetic field controller (134) outputs a magnetic field command by using a secondary magnetic flux command outputted in the size corresponding to the rotation speed of a motor (150). A motor driving part (155) drives the motor using the first current command outputted from the current operator and a second current command obtained from the magnetic flux controller. An encoder (120) outputs the rotational position (&thgr;m) of the motor.
