The invention relates to an agent for brightening keratin fibers, which contains, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, (i) at least one acylpyridinium derivative of formula (I), (ii) at least 0.5% by weight, based on the overall weight of the agent ready for use, of one or more organic solvents, selected from the group composed of alkanediols, alkanepolyols, monoethers of alkanediols, carbonates of alkanediols and carbonates of alkanepolyols, and (iii) at least hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant.
