The joint device (60) has a clutch for releasable mechanical connection of the joint device with a tool (20) or with a distal end (32) of a shaft (30), where a locking device is provided on the clutch for locking the mechanical connection. A joint allows bending of a clutch relative to an end of the joint device facing away from the clutch. The locking device is formed so that the mechanical connection is locked at a predetermined working-angular position of the joint, and is releasable at a predetermined releasing-angular position of the joint.
