The invention relates to a balloon catheter (1), comprising a catheter line (2), a stretchable balloon (3), which is formed on the catheter line (2), and a connection apparatus (6), which has at least a first connector (7) for supplying fluid and which is arranged on the catheter line (2), wherein at least a first channel extends in the catheter line (2), which first channel, at least at the one longitudinal end thereof, has a fluidic connection to the first connector (7) and, at least in a different channel length section, has a fluidic connection to the balloon interior (4). For an advantageous development, it is proposed that a valve insert (13) having a tubule is inserted into the first channel, wherein a cavity, which is present in the tubule in a channel extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, extends as far as at least one end-side opening of the tubule in the direction towards the connection apparatus (6) and as far as a seal of the channel in the direction towards the balloon (3), and wherein at least one passage opening is formed, which leads across the lateral wall of the tubule, opens into the cavity in the tubule and has a fluidic connection to the end-side opening. The invention moreover relates to a method for using a balloon catheter (1). |
