PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fibrous adsorbing material which exhibits high selectivity to radioactive strontium and the handling, volume reduction or solidification of which is facilitated.SOLUTION: The fibrous adsorbing material exhibiting high selectivity to radioactive strontium is produced by: introducing an ion exchange group or a chelating group onto an organic polymer fiber by using a radiation graft polymerization method; adsorbing a titanium ion on the introduced group; and subjecting the titanium ion-adsorbed organic polymer fiber to treatment using an alkaline aqueous solution and heat treatment to precipitate and deposit metal titanate on the organic polymer fiber.
